Whoo. It's Summer now and I'm back into the swing of things.
Ive finished my first year at the University. My classes were amazing and my teachers were even better. My favourite days are when I get up to go to school. Its such an awesome environment with encouraging and inspirational people. So, yes. Getting my Bachelors in Drama at the university is a rewarding experience.
So, now that school is finished, I found I just couldnt give it all up. Im taking a Spring course in Theatrical Make-up taught by my favourite teacher and just finished getting my supplies for the new make-up kit. By the end of it, Ill be a make-up master. It cost me a major pretty penny though, leaving me strapped for cash for next year. Plus, I also bought a laptop, letting me take my photography and projects on the go. Yay for me, boo for the bank account.
However, in the cash situation, I quit my job at Starbucks due to issues with my boss but I am now working at the University theatre as an usher. I get $10 an hour to watch shows and talk with people in theatre. Only downside is that I dont get many hours, seeing as I only work about 4 shows a week. Im thinking of picking up another job after I come back from summer plans.
Summer plans so far:
Im taking the make-up class until the end of June. After that, Ive got a few girlfriends coming from Taber for the very first few days of Stampede. Theyve never been before so were going to spend three days rocking the stampede. Im super excited for that!
After that, Im heading out to work with my Grandpa on the Folk Festival there. I love the folk festival and Im probably going to be helping out on the stages and backstage and stuff. All the things I love working with. Also, super excited for that! Ill come back home from that in about the third week of July. Just in time for the Folk Festival back home and The Weekend to end Breast Cancer.
Speaking of which, photographically wise, Im creating a calendar using a lot of girls from my university as models. Its a tasteful nude theme with the girls in blue jeans and pink ribbons. All of the proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be donated to breast cancer research. Im working on that this weekend and I hope to find a place to print the calendars. Im hoping that theyll be popular at the Breast Cancer Walk.
That's my update.
